The first step is to find some types of movement you enjoy! If you don’t enjoy it then it’s likely that you won’t be very consistent with it.
So often we use exercise as a punishment for what we’ve eaten or we use it to burn off calories for what we are about to eat. That’s not a very positive relationship with movement.
Daily movement is very beneficial for and I’ll cover the benefits later this week, but for now, check in to see what’s your relationship like right now with movement?
- Do you avoid it altogether?
- Are you afraid to go to the gym because you feel like you’ll be judged by the way you look?
- Do you push yourself really hard and then end up in a lot of pain?
- Do you feel like you have to sweat and do cardio for an hour or it doesn’t really count?
Start with figuring out what kinds of movement you like to do and try some different things out. You can change it up too, it doesn’t have to always look like going to a gym and lifting weights or running on a treadmill. It can be stretching, dance parties and cutting your grass.
